Topic Summary

I'll start a new topic to track the full-screen mode requests.  (I use the topics in the Features forum as my list of "to-do" items, and I don't want to lose track of them here in this topic.)

After more thought, I realized that in order to support custom grids as part of the background image, each screen resolution would require two separate backgrounds--one for full screen and one for normal mode, since the grid size can change between the two modes.

What a perspective! I have already begun to create some themes. Then, indeed, I chose to use only one background image with one color scheme. That's great, especially in full screen mode.
Anywhere, I am wondering if it is possible to make the menu appear in full screen mode, without returning in normal mode, with the two lines on top and below.
Then, would it be possible to center the background image on screen in the non full screen mode?
Finally, when I finish a game into the full screen mode, the congratulation box doesn't want to desappear when I push 'ok'. However, it does in the normal mode.

Thank you for your passionate work.

You're welcome, Neverwish--it turns out wishes do sometimes come true!  I had your request in mind, particularly for the background image support, when I wrote the feature.

Let me know if you have specific questions about creating a theme.  I'll post instructions at some point, but I won't have time to get to it for a few days.  Hopefully most of the parameters in the theme file are self-explanatory.

Also let me know if you'd like more things to be customizable.  I may not be able to do them all, but I have a few more parameters that I haven't exposed for themes yet, like adding padding between boxes and removing the outer border like some other Sudoku apps.

If you really want to get fancy, you can hide the gridlines and include a custom grid image instead.  You'd have to create a separate image for each screen size you wanted to support, but I think it's fine to have themes that support a limited number of screen sizes.

For the next release, I'm also planning to have themes include sounds, so you can customize sounds for entering a digit, completing a box/row/column, completing the grid successfully, etc.

Looking forward to your themes!

Here's a sample theme that includes a background image.

To install, download the attached files and copy them to the "Themes" folder under the location where you installed the game.  For example, if you installed in "\Storage\Program Files\Smoresoft Sudoku" folder, create a "Themes" subfolder at "\Storage\Program Files\Smoresoft Sudoku\Themes" and copy the attached files to the new folder.
