Bug with candidates in v1.6.11.0?
« on: January 08, 2008, 07:26:49 PM »
I'm running Sudoku v1.6.11.0 and have noticed that the candidates in other cells don't change back from red to blue when you UNDO a move or change a number that has been incorrectly entered in a cell. The color seems to change from blue to red correctly as candidates are eliminated, but they don't change back if you make a mistake or explore different solutions.

Have you seen this problem?

I've tried re-installing v1.6.11.0 - no change. Previous version (1.5.xx?) did not behave this way.

Thanks,
Tony

Hi Tony,

What assistance level setting are you using?

Thanks,

Tony,

Thanks for bringing this bug to my attention!

I was able to reproduce the problem with Assistance Level = "Flag illegal pencil marks".  I will ensure this is fixed for the next release.

Let me know if you are seeing the problem with a different assistance level.

Thanks!

If you'd like to take an early look at the next release, which includes the fix above, you can download it at http://www.smoresoft.com/downloads/Smoresoft.SudokuWM.1.7.cab.

Note that this release includes the Smoresoft puzzle packs in the main download, so you don't have to download them separately. It adds 10KB to the download size, but it's less than downloading the puzzles separately, and most people get them all anyway.

David,
Thanks for your quick response. I was able to download and install the v1.7 cab file from the website. It looks like it's a fix for the problems I was seeing. Thanks!!!
