German translation
« on: July 12, 2006, 01:46:53 PM »
And here's a German translation! :)
As in the French one, I translated "Pencil marks" as "Kandidaten" (Candidats), based on the official (?) naming I found on Wikipedia. I also translated "Singles" as "Einer", based on the same source.
This is an early trial for the translation; there may still be errors (strings too long or so) and/or bad translations, so feel free to let me know!

David, actually I am wondering, do you have a template for the v1.2 release already - the one in the other thread still seems to be the v1.1 one...

Excellent!  I will build this into a language pack soon, and I'll update the template tonight (PST) as well.  I've been rearranging the menus and options lately to try to get everything to fit without scrolling, so there are a number of changes.

Thanks for the translation!

Well, 'tonight' and 'soon' are a matter of definition, I presume? ;)
Would be great to have both soon, though...  8)

Yes, my apologies for the delay.  The full-screen mode took so much longer than expected, and it wasn't in good enough shape to publish until this evening.

I just finished the translation, and I'm in the process of publishing everything now.  I'll update you when it's ready.

I've attached the translation modified for version 1.2.  I marked the new items that need to be translated with "TODO" in the comment tag.

Thanks, David! :)
Please find the v1.2 translation attached - like to see it 'in action' in order to be able to bug-fix it...  ::)

MODIFIED 11:18am: Updated attachment - overlooked some untranslated items the first time...

1.2 Preview 6 contains your latest changes.  However, I added some new strings. :)

The updated file is attached.

Thanks, Pa9an!

I noticed that the final "n" in "Hintergrundbeleuchtung an" is cut off on a 176x220 screen.  Is there a reasonable way to shorten this text by one character or more?

The bug should be fixed in the attached file, I've shortened the text a bit.

Currently awaiting the new strings to be translated for the warning requestors... ;)

Thanks!  I'll include this (and the new strings) in the next release, hopefully this weekend.

Can I already download the new template somewhere, so the new strings can already be translated in the weekend's release? ;)

I don't have it ready yet, but I'll use the following strings:

"Confirm" -- title of the dialog
"Are you sure you want to abandon the game in progress?" -- dialog text
"Yes" -- left softkey menu
"No" -- right softkey menu

If you want to translate these strings here in the forum, I'll include them in the next release.

There you go  :)

"Confirm" -- "Bestätigung"
"Are you sure you want to abandon the game in progress?" -- "Soll das aktuelle Spiel wirklich abgebrochen werden?"
"Yes" -- "Ja"
"No" -- "Nein"
